Stay Safe Annie!

Yes, yes, yes.... there certainly is crime out there. And there's also a lot of safety out there, too.

Maybe you're one of the lucky ones...you're someone who was never affected by a criminal of any kind, and if so, wow! You're in the minority. Most of us have been a victim of some crime or another.

Tell me the first time you were awakened to the realities of crime.
Post a comment.

The first time I was affected by crime was when someone toilet papered our front yard (really extensively, too) on a Halloween night. Kids, no doubt with nothing but time on their hands. It took us hours to clean it up and was a mild form of property destruction (I don't know how many people are arrested for this each year; there's a lot worse crimes out there.). Crimes have come a long way from simple acts of toilet papering, haven't they?

Then in college, when I went home for Christmas break, someone sneaked into my room in the dorm and stole two records from my collection. They did the same thing to every other room on the dorm floor. The police caught that one, who was one of the handymen on the staff.

I never thought much of these incidents at the time but now I know that our goal is to stay safe each and every day. With summer here, it's important to stay alert and be aware of our surroundings.

Did you know that the best way to stay safe is just by listening to intuition ? If you get a feeling that you shouldn't go somewhere or do something like walk down a certain street, that feeling is protecting you from unseen danger.

My purpose in this blog is to give you secrets about safety you may not ever get anywhere else. I'll bring in articles on various topics related to safety and want to know what you are interested in , too. I'll send you to some safety websites that can help. I'm constantly on the hunt for different safety products that can be used to help us in this pursuit so I'll let you know about them. And from time to time, I'll ask my good friends in law enforcement to give us some advice on a particular topic.

So welcome, and let's all stay safe, healthy and happy!

Sincerely,
Stay Safe Annie
